The SOMM Journal’s global tasting series, Geographical Digest, continues with “Technique or Terroir: Is It Production or Nature That Makes These Wines Great?” The webinar will feature Vitalie Taittinger of Champagne Taittinger.
Crafting a fine wine—or refined spirit—is part earthbound farming, part production prowess. But are they equal parts? Is it the job of the winemaker or distiller to simply not mess up the optimal raw materials, or should they play Sorcerer’s Apprentice to transform mere juice into nectar? We’ll put the question to seven cellar masters in hopes of revealing their true secrets.
