\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMy world was rocked when I discovered Pralines on a trip to Nashville 2 years ago. These delicious confections are a historic staple of southern desserts which gained popularity in the French quarter of New Orleans in the 17 and 18 hundreds. These caramelized pecans are made using a combination of brown sugar, pecans (which were native to the area), butter and milk. If you\u2019ve ever had one, they\u2019re hard to forget so I make vegan (I\u2019m allergic to dairy) pralines at home using The Spruce Eat\u2019s vegan recipe. If you\u2019re going to indulge in anything this caramelized, I would recommend a tawny port to compliment the nutty, buttery flavors of your dessert. Fonseca\u2019s 20 Year Old Tawny Porto is an affordable port that will be a beautiful match to the melt in your mouth Pralines.
