During the fall season, I enjoy pairing pumpkin risotto paired with White Burgundy. It is a match made in heaven. Pumpkin bread is a fall staple in my household, and this year I am planning on enjoying with a glass of Zind Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal. This Pinot Gris has aromatic, fruity notes of yellow apple, peach, and mango with delectable notes of honeycomb and hazelnut on the finish. While the bright fruity notes of the wine contrast with the thick pumpkin bread, the hazelnut finish of the wine will mesh beautifully with the Pumpkin Spice we know and love. No fall season is complete without a delicious pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is always what I look forward to most at Thanksgiving, but it can also be enjoyed through the cool months of the year. There is no better pairing than a big slice of pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream and a glass of Taylor Fladgate 20 Year Old Tawny Port. This tawny is complex and spicy with jammy and nutty aromas. It also has hints of orange flower and an oakiness that comes from the long period of aging in cask.
