I used to work in the town of Alba in Piedmont, Italy, and each year from October to December, the Alba International White Truffle Fair took place. If you got anywhere close to the city center, you could smell the tartufo! It was heavenly. In honor of National Mushroom Day (today), whip up a truffle-scented dish and pair it with this Barbera Nizza.
