Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.
St. Francis Sonoma County Chardonnay
It’s National Wine Day; I thought that was every day! As of November 2020, there are 252 American Viticultural Areas in 33 States, with 141 AVAs in California.
Did you know that the first registered AVA was not in CA but Augusta, Mississippi, on June 20, 1980?
To mark the day, I have selected a bottle of Chardonnay from St. Francis Winery & Vineyards. They are one of the pioneers in Sonoma County, established in 1971 and producing certified sustainable wines.
Their Sonoma County Chardonnay is an American classic with its buttery medium-bodied texture and aromas of melon, pineapple, and citrus with balanced acidity and a pleasantly extended finish. So pick up a bottle, kick back and celebrate with a glass or two – Cheers!

Tasting Notes
Aromas and flavors of fresh melon, citrus, pineapple and butterscotch lead off this medium-bodied Chardonnay, followed by crisp acidity and a rich, lingering finish.
