Does Altitude Effect Wine Taste?

Wines that taste fantastic on the ground may have an entirely different flavor at high altitudes, such as in an airplane. Sommeliers often look for fruitier, less acidic, and less tannic wines to counteract the effect that low humidity and high altitude have on wines, and will taste-test at high altitudes.
