Today is International Cabernet Day, so why not celebrate with a bottle of St. Francis Cabernet Sauvignon? Named after St. Francis of Assisi (Patron Saint of animals and ecology), the winery has been certified sustainable since 2013, but I love this producer for more than just their solar panels and water conservation — they make damn delicious wine! Case in point is this Sonoma County Cab, which is fruity and rich on its own, and also has a good balance of acidity and ripe tannins to pair well with food. Did I mention it’s less than twenty bucks? You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better value Cabernet from Sonoma.
