“The Green One!” would be the perfect response to National Answer the Phone Like Buddy the Elf Day – “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” This Joto sake would earn double the points from Buddy because of its festive, colorful, green glass bottle. However, I’m not sure it would pair well with his four main food groups (candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup), so you might want to stick to foods it definitely tastes great with: nutty, aged cheeses or a hot bowl of ramen, both perfect foods during the winter.
ORIGIN
Yamagata
Rice Type
Dewa-No-Sato
Tasting Notes
Fruitier and cleaner than many junmais, which lean earthy and dry. Still solid and rich, with notes of deep, ripe plum. Finishes with crisp acidity.
Food Match
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Pair with many foods, but especially nutty cheeses, ramen, and grilled pork.
