Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.
Today is National Pack Rat Day so celebrate by decluttering before the summer! My hubby and I perfectly match in many ways, but when it comes to neatness, it is a whole other business: me, the compulsive neatnik, and he is the “save it, we may need it later” type. It can be many hours of negotiation and contention of what enters and leaves our home. On neatnik days, mostly Saturdays or Sundays, I usually arm myself with a good bottle of wine, blast the music and start the in and out piles. This past Saturday, I pulled out a bottle of Fonseca Siroco Extra Dry port and a six-pack of Fever-Tree tonic and had myself a Rat Pack worthy “de-pack ratting” party! Try this delicious low alcohol cocktail option for yourselves, which is perfect for summer day drinking or doing chores. You can find this and many other fabulous port cocktail recipes at http://portcocktails.com.

Malvasia Fina, Malvasia Rei
Pale straw gold in color, the wine is lightly sweet with a vibrant acidity and round, velvety texture. White fruit aromas and flavors are offset by light oak notes.
Customarily served chilled as an aperitif, on the rocks or with tonic or sparkling water.
