Sip of the Day

August 16, 2021

Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Caposaldo Prosecco Rosé

In the mood for a sweeet, sweet summer Rose? Then I have the wine for you. The Caposaldo Prosecco Rose hails from the Prosecco region of Italy, the hotbed of sparkling wine within that country’s borders. It goes especially well with a seafood dish, particularly shellfish.

ORIGIN

Prosecco DOC Rosè Brut Millesimato

Grapes

85% Glera, 15% Pinot Noir

Caposaldo Prosecco Rose

Tasting Notes

Bright, sparkling pink. A fine, persistent perlage with fragrant notes of wild strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants and cherries that give way to peaches and apricots and a final, floral flourish. Those fresh, fruity notes persist onto the palate culminating in a long, lingering finish.

Food Match

Pair with fish and shellfish dishes, and also white meat and grilled vegetables. Also excellent as an aperitif or for toasts.
