Champagne Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie

Today is National Social Media Day, but I would like to zero in on a more interesting social media phenomenon also associated with June 30th: National OOTD Day. Not sure what that means? Well, it is a Gen X term for Outfit Of The Day. This trend was started on social media three years ago by the fashion set posting what they plan to wear each morning to inspire others to dress their best and easily transition from work to play. Since my pandemic outfits have gotten progressively worst over the past year, I felt that today may be a good day to step up my game and dress up (with the best dress that still fits). Also, I have decided to start my own social media day on June 30th, folie called WOTD (Wine Of The Day) with a bottle of Taittinger Champagne “Les Folies De La Marquetterie.” This single-vineyard cuvée matches my singular character; it is full-bodied, full of flavor, yet manages to be harmonious and complex all at once, just like me.

This deep golden Champagne has fine, delicate bubbles. On the nose, its intense, highly fruity aroma includes peaches and apricot jam with subtle toasted brioche and vanilla notes. It is full-bodied and fruity on the palate with golden peach flavors leading to a finish with light woody notes. This full-flavored, harmonious Champagne is distinguished by its immense richness and complexity.

Food Match

An ideal accompaniment to robust dishes such as roasts and fish in sauce.
