Chateau des Jacques Morgon Cote du Py
I can think of few dishes that I enjoy more than a nice roast duck on a summer evening. Though my favorite iteration of this meal is the Chinese-style Peking duck, any technique used to create this dish is fine with me. In order to fully appreciate this meal, you’ll need the proper wine to go along with it – that’s where the Chateau des Jacques Morgon Cote du Py comes in. Crafted in Beaujolais, France, this powerful red has aromas of red fruit and nut. Its tannic versatility allows it to be consumed at any time, whether it be now or 10 years in the future.
ORIGIN
Morgon
Grapes
100% Gamay
Tasting Notes
With a deep cherry color and nut and red fruit aromas, this wine has firm tannins that can be austere in their youth. Can be consumed immediately, but will soften and develop with a few years of ageing.
Food Match
Pairs well with duck, squab and other poultry, especially in a thick plum sauce, and strong cheeses.
