Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Chàteau des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent

It’s National Scrabble Day! This game is near and dear to my heart since it was my Grandmother’s Sunday ritual… some make sauce, others play for pennies. In honor of my dear Grandma “Cookie”, I will be uncorking a bottle of Chateau des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent, a lovely mediative wine with notes of violets, raspberries, and zesty black pepper, and sitting down to play a rousing game with my family to reminisce and laugh about her atrocious spelling due to her determination to win.

ORIGIN

Moulin-à-Vent, Burgundy, France

Grapes

100% Gamay

Tasting Notes

Blend of 8 single vineyards, the Moulin-à-Vent 2016 presents a deep garnet color. Its complex nose reveals aromas of violets, ripened red fruit, and black pepper. The freshness of these granitic terroirs balances well with the remarkable richness and texture.

Created by potrace 1.16, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2019

Food Match

Moulin-à-Vent pairs perfectly with lighter red meat dishes.
