Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.
Croft Fine Ruby Port
Mid-week slump, we meet again. And you’re especially tough to surmount at the tail-end of a very cold, socially-distant January. This is exactly why I won’t say no to National Chocolate Cake Day. I’ll be getting over hump day with a slab of Dulce du Leche Chocolate Cake from my favorite local bakery and eatery, Choice Market, paired with Croft Fine Ruby Port. The deep berry flavors and full body complement the rich, sweet chocolate of my bakery treat. If you’re having doubts about pairing chocolate with wine—and this is good to keep in mind for Valentine’s Day—whereas a dry red runs the risk of tasting astringent next to chocolate, you cannot go wrong with a Port, whether Tawny or Ruby.
An intense, deep ruby color, this wine offers black fruit aromas, full body and a bright blueberry, blackberry and black cherry flavor. Made to be enjoyed immediately.
