Sequoia Grove Chardonnay

On this wine Wednesday, enjoy something from home … or the home in the US, that is. Sequoia Grove makes a Napa Valley Chardonnay and it is lovely to say the least. This wine is not overly oaked nor buttery like many Chardonnays from California, but instead is well-balanced and food friendly — you’ll enjoy bright fruit flavors and gentle hints of oak. Pairs well with most foods and all binge-worthy TV shows.

Tasting Notes

The nose draws you in immediately with tropical, pineapple guava character followed by a floral note, flinty, with lemon zest, custard, honeysuckle, pound cake on the palate, finishing with a saline component. The palate walks the line between generous fruit and zippy acidity. The finish is energetic and with hints of toasted nuts and fresh cream.

Food Match

Very food-friendly and will go well with most dishes, from appetizers to soups to main courses. Try it with a just-picked spring lettuce and fresh herb salad, or with a mature, delicate brie cheese.
