Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Louis Jadot Pinot Noir Bourgogne

Well, well, well, today 14th, of July is National Mac and Cheese Day and National Nude Day: how on earth do you celebrate both? I have some ideas, but since it is dangerous to be easy-breezy around boiling water and bubbling cheese, I’ll stick to only honoring one National Day today and Mac’n’Cheese wins! Thanks to Founding Father Thomas Jefferson for first serving “a pie called macaroni” at a state dinner in 1802 and planting the seeds for one of the top comfort foods of the Nation. Well, he discovered the delightful dish in France, so what better wine to pair with my creation than a chilled Burgundian Pinot Noir: Maison Louis Jadot produces a fresh easy-drinking Pinot Noir, which complements the gooey chewy mac’n’cheese to perfection. This purple hue, light-bodied, intense aroma, red fruit wine is well balanced and vibrantly refreshing and a fantastic companion for baked macaroni and cheese any time of year!

Tasting Notes

This medium-bodied wine is harmonious, with forward, plump fruit and a silky texture balanced by gentle tannins and elegant structure. The very typical Pinot aromas and flavors of red cherries and wild strawberries are complemented by a delicious, lingering finish.

Food Match

Pairs with red meats, roasts, pork tenderloin and soft cheeses.
