Day #71 of the year.

Maison Saleya

Flower seeds, starter pots, soil, spade, gardening gloves, rosé: check. It is National Plant a Flower Day, and it is time to start your flower seeds to enjoy beautiful blooms all spring and summer. I am planting some new varieties of peonies, dahlias, and marigolds this year to beautify my Brooklyn fire-escape garden. To give my labor of love a sense of occasion, I have picked up a bottle of Maison Saleya Rosé, aptly named for the famous Cours Saleya flower market in Nice, Côte d’Azur. This Provencal-style Rosé is a breath of summer in a glass. With its salmon color and aromas of tropical fruit, it is a perfect sipping companion while you are getting your green thumb on. Santé!

Tasting Notes

Beautiful light rose-salmon color with aromas of ripe tropical fruit, revealing accents of tangerine and hints of ginger. The palate is broad and rich, with well-spiced flavors of raspberry, currant, and dark cherry. The finish is long and rich. Serve chilled and enjoy.
