Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Montes Purple Angel

On September 12th, 1962, President John F. Kennedy made a historic speech, declaring that the U.S. would land a man on the moon before the end of the decade. To commemorate this moment in history, it’s only right that you do it with a wine literally described as – “from another planet” – the Montes 2017 Purple Angel. This stellar Carmenere is at its best when paired with red meats and cannelloni. However, no matter how you choose to enjoy this wine, it’ll take you to infinity and beyond.

ORIGIN

Colchagua Valley

Grapes

92% Carmenere, 8% Petit Verdot

Montes 2017 Purple Angel

Tasting Notes

Impressive deep purplish-red in color. The aromas are complex, with pronounced blackberry and ripe blueberry fruit. There is also dried plum, cooked cherry and candied fruit. The 18 months of aging in French oak gives a complex nose of toasted aromas, nuts, sweet spice, and touches of dairy and vanilla. On the palate, the flavors follow the aromas, with sensations of dark fruit and toast leading to a long finish that is finely balanced with good body and structure.

Food Match

Highly recommended with red meats, lamb chops with rosemary, pork ribs, and cannelloni.
