Mullan Road Cellars Columbia Valley Red Wine

No one hates fast food. You may hate the way fast food sits with you or hate it’s evident lack of nutrition but you cannot say you hate the way fast food tastes or makes your feel (emotionally). These days, my favorite fast-food place is Bareburger. So on national fast food day, you’ll know exactly where to find me. While I enjoy my guiltless indulgence of a bison burger, sweet fries, and gluten free chicken fingers (don’t judge me), I’ll be contrasting that meal with Mullan Road Cellars Columbia Valley Red Blend. I love taking a fatty, rich meal and pairing it with a fabulous, quality wine. The tannic structure of this wine will marry the fat from the burger (and basically everything else I’ve ordered) to create ultimate satisfaction. A Michelin star meal on a fast-food budget.

ORIGIN

Columbia Valley, Washington

Grapes

51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

Mullan Road, 2017, Red wine, American red blend

Tasting Notes

Perfumed aromas of currants, plum skin, dried herbs and spice make way for more intense notes of smoked raspberry, dried strawberry and vanilla bean. The flavors are layered and concentrated, providing a seamless palate filled with deep cherry, black fruits, sage and baking spices. Delicious, sultry and complex, this wine’s wonderful texture and silky tannins carry through to a long and lifted finish fitting for an age-worthy release.

Food Match

Pairs well with any red meat on the grill, pork tenderloin, heavy cheeses and grilled vegetables.
