Pighin Sauvignon Blanc Friuli DOC
You might save a good Sauvignon Blanc for the warmer months of the year, but I think Sauvignon blanc is a welcome companion anytime of the year. As I’ve adjusted to a quarantine routine, I’ve been spending my evenings prepping and cooking meals that I previously didn’t have time to make. As any normal person, I get hungry as I cook and find that a crisp white wine and some chips or carrots are the perfect snack to hold me over as I prep a dinner that sometimes takes too long! If its National Tortilla chip day (like it is today), I plan on chowing down on some salty Tostitos and pairing them with my pre-dinner Pighin Friuli Sauvignon Blanc. With snacks these good, who knows if I’ll save room for dinner… but hey I always welcome leftovers!
ORIGIN
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
Grapes
Sauvignon Blanc
Tasting Notes
The wine shows intense and persistent aromas of tomato leaves, with notes of wild green peppers and elderflower. In the mouth, the wine has elegant, fresh and full flavors, and excellent length on the palate.
Food Match
Will pair well with vegetable soups--especially cream-based soups--soufflés and dishes with eggs and asparagus. Also excellent with salami.
