Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

St. Francis Reserve Zinfandel

I really hate wasting food, because it’s expensive and we can forget it’s a privilege to even have food, especially in excess. To avoid food waste, I like to go to a local mom & pop grocery store or fruit stand a few times throughout the week and get exactly what I need for the next few meals. On occasion something might come up where you don’t end up cooking the food that you have. Rather than throwing something out or letting it go bad I like to freeze meats and sometimes even produce and defrost them so nothing in my fridge ever goes to waste! Using leftover food in your freezer and pantry can be a fun pot-luck style dinner, and the experience of that meal can be seriously elevated by a good wine. So tonight I’m raiding the fridge! I’ll defrost my veal, boil a side of pasta, and prepare leftover salad with St. Francis Reserve Zinfandel. Salvaging your leftovers never looked so good than with this wine!

Tasting Notes

This is a spicy yet refined Zinfandel that is beautifully balanced with remarkable color. Aromas of cinnamon and dark mixed berry merge with flavors of blackberry jam, ripe raspberry and a touch of peppercorn. A luxurious wine with a long and silky finish.
