Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

St. Francis Sonoma County Pinot Noir

If you need a dose of inspiration and encouragement, pick up “In the Company of Women: Inspiration and Advice from over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs” by Grace Bonney. It’s a beautiful, full-color coffee table book that you’ll actually sit down and read like a novel, front to back. The women featured come from all over the world, each one doing something creative and courageous. If there was one thing I’d change, I would have liked to see a broader range of fields represented—such as winemaking! To the women featured, I raise a glass of St. Francis Pinot Noir from Sonoma County made by the talented Katie Madigan. It is juicy and medium-bodied with hints of raspberry and clove followed by bright, crisp flavors of pomegranate, cherry, and a touch of licorice. Katie noted that winemaking, to her, is the perfect combination of science and creativity. She’d fit right in in these pages of “In the Company of Women.”
