Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Tenuta di Biserno Il Pino

Today, December 15th, is National Lemon Cupcake Day! A staple of any self-respecting dessert menu, this pastry can be crafted in a variety of different ways. However, most recipes follow a basic template: lemon juice, eggs, baking soda, sugar, and vanilla cream. Whether you like to bake from scratch or buy directly from the supermarket, you’ll need something to wash down the deliciousness with. That’s where the Tenuta di Biserno Il Pino comes in. Crafted in the Bibbona sub-appellation of Tuscany, this muscular red has notes of cassis and chocolate wafting out of the glass. If you live on the East Coast, be sure to grab both the wine and the cupcake ingredients before the blizzard hits!

Tasting Notes

Il Pino shows an intense nose with ripe fruit and some spicy notes. The oak is well integrated and adds complexity and balance to the fruit. The wine is medium to full bodied with ripe tannins, fine acidity and great length. The wine has all the components to develop beautifully in the next 7 to 10 years.
