Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling

Hey, hotties, get ready to break out the hot sauce! November 5th is National Hot Sauce day, but for those of us with higher Scoville threshold, that is every day, several meals a day. Having been born and raised in the flavor desert of Bulgarian cooking, I discovered the wonderful world of spices when I moved to New York City in the 90’s. I fell in love with the exotic spices and layered flavors of the city’s Indian, Mexican, Thai, and Szechuan cuisine. My go-to hot stuff is Kill Sauce by Habanero Cartel, which I discovered on a trip to LA. I loved it so much that I had to order online as soon as I got back home. I am pairing my mildly spiced, crispy baked wings and mommy potatoes with a delicious, crisp Riesling from one of the top Alsatian producers, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht. This wine is perfection on its own, but in this case helps to make cooking more fun and cools and cleanses the palate between every scrumptious bite.

ORIGIN

Alsace, France

Grapes

Riesling

Tasting Notes

Bright, pale yellow/green color. The nose is very expressive, showing intense fruit and citrus aromatics. The palate shows a delicate zesty texture. The acidity is ripe, salivating, not overpowering, and allowing the wine to finish on an elegant classic touch.
