Day #[wpdts-day-of-year start=”post-created”] of the year.
Campo al Mare Bolgheri Rosso
Today, February 2nd, is Groundhog Day! If you live in the Northeast, there’s no need to check in to see if winter has come – the 12-18 inches of snow currently on the ground answered that question. However, checking in on Punxsutawney Phil is a time-honored tradition in the United States. While we haven’t always our groundhogs with the care they deserve (see: the Bill DeBlasio incident of 2014), we rely on Phil in particular to be our chief meteorological prognosticator. Knowing our luck over the past 365 days and counting, he’ll more than likely see his shadow (AKA six more weeks of winter). If you’re snowbound, consider giving the Campo al Mare Bolgheri Rosso a try when you emerge from your proverbial hole. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this red goes especially well with chicken and various types of beef. It has a velvet touch on the palate and has inviting aromas of balsamic.
Its deep, dark and dense colour opens the way to explosive aromas characterized by a vibrant balsamic note. On the palate it is velvety and enveloping, with a harmonious and balanced end.
Food Match
Pairs well with beef steaks, roasts and stews as well as rich poultry.
