What are Zinfandel's Origins?

Zinfandel’s origins are Croatian: In the early 2000s, scientists discovered just nine vines of an ancient grape variety called Crljenak Kaštelanski on the Dalmation coast. Through DNA analysis, they proved that these vines were identical to California Zinfandel.
