Louis Jadot Cote D’Or Burgundies Pommard
Today is National Roast Leg of Lamb Day! Roasted lamb envokes fond memories of preparing to celebrate Easter with family in Bulgaria, laughter throughout our home, and a sneaky fourteen-year-old me stealing a sip of wine from my grandpa’s glass. I am now all grown up, and thankfully, to the profession I have chosen, I have access to some of the world’s premier fine wines and no longer need to sneak a sip! So today, I will celebrate the memories of home and spring season by opening a bottle of Louis Jadot Pommard, one of my favorite Burgundy wines, and although I do not have the leg of lamb, I will settle for a couple of herbs de Provence pan-seared lamb chops – à l’anglaise of course!
ORIGIN
Pommard, France
Grapes
Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes
Pommard is often considered the most “masculine” Côte de Beaune red. This is a firm, full-bodied wine that is nevertheless exceptionally round and generous, with a fruity depth of character and earthy aromas and flavors.
Food Match
Pairs well with small game, complex beef dishes, pungent cheeses.
