Shades of Blue Riesling
October is a great month to pull out your crockpot or stockpot and brew up some soups. As a wine lover, a recipe for Riesling soup recently caught my eye. Today, October 6th being National German- American Heritage Day, I thought it would be an apt time to share it with you since the recipe is traditionally German. I will be using Shades of Blue Riesling from Germany’s Mosel region to cook and sip this evening. This slightly effervescent, low alcohol, semi-dry Riesling has beautiful floral, white stone fruit, and citrus aromas with good acidity, making it perfect for sipping chilled. Since it comes in a 1.5L bottle, there is plenty for the soup and to go around at the dinner table later – Prost!
