Tutto Mio is the perfect summertime wine. From Emilia-Romagna, Italy, this sparkling red wine is bursting with fruity berry notes and has a slight sweetness that allows it to pair easily with many different foods—barbecue and grilled meats being an excellent example! Served chilled alongside a burger or ribs, and you’ll be asking for a second glass in no time, and at just 7.5% ABV, a second pour is a no-brainer. It comes in a bottle or a can, so you can serve at home or take it on picnics or enjoy it poolside.
Another reason Tutto Mio, whose name means “all mine” in Italian, is great for this hot weather is because it makes a killer cocktail ingredient. The following recipe for a Tutto Mio Raspberry Mojito will make these hot summer days pass by quicker than your ice melts.
“What grows together, goes together:” Emilia-Romagna in northeastern Italy is famous for Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and a slew of other savory, salty meats and cheeses, all of which complement Tutto Mio in a refreshing, satisfying way.
Its slight frizzante style comes about because winemaking in Emilia-Romagna dates back thousands of years to when wine styles were dependent upon weather conditions. The cool winters of the region would stop fermentation; when the warmth returned in spring, a second fermentation began. The resulting wines had a fruity sweetness and a slight natural sparkle resulting from the second fermentation.
