As the weather turns chilly, it’s the perfect time to gather around the fire with friends and family. Our Public Relations team has handpicked their ultimate fall wine staples, perfect for cozy evenings by the fire pit.
Cakebread Chardonnay
Lauren James
Although I believe most people would be reaching for a full-bodied red wine to warm you up during the fall, I would prefer to drink a fresh glass of Cakebread Chardonnay. This wine has the perfect balance of ripe fruit flavors, fresh acidity, and subtle oak, making it a perfect wine for numerous occasions. You could never go wrong with any varietal from Cakebread, but their Chardonnay hits the spot every time. This wine also pairs perfectly with a cheese board, exactly what I want to reach for when I’m hanging out by a fire!

Medici Ermete Concerto
Hailey Giordano
One of my favorite wine trends making a well-deserved comeback is Lambrusco. Not the syrupy sweet version many people remember from decades past. Today’s Lambrusco is fresh, vibrant, and incredibly food-friendly, and I can’t get enough of it. A standout for me is Medici Ermete Concerto, a dry, single-vineyard Lambrusco that delivers deep berry flavors, a touch of earthiness, and lively bubbles that make every sip feel like a celebration. It’s my go-to for a chilled glass of red bubbles or, better yet, as the base for a Lambrusco spritz, just add a splash of citrus liqueur and a slice of orange for a fun twist. It’s playful, unexpected, and perfect for fall entertaining. Lambrusco proves that not all trends have to be new- sometimes the best ones are just waiting for their comeback moment.

Sequoia Grove Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Anna Brenny
When I first started my wine journey, red wine was not my thing. I would always reach for something light and crisp like a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. But somewhere along the way, maybe when the weather started getting cooler or when my frontal lobe finally finished developing at 25 (who knows), I fell head over heels for a good red wine.
Now, as soon as the air turns crispy and fireplaces start crackling, I crave that cozy glass of red. But let’s be clear, not all reds are created equal. One wine that completely blew me away is the Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon. I am not exaggerating when I say my jaw actually dropped after the first sip. Even my roommates, who usually avoid reds, thought it was incredible.
This wine manages to be incredibly rich while still feeling smooth, juicy, and fruit-forward. It is layered with blackberry, red and black cherries, and currants, with subtle hints of sweet spice, floral, and mineral notes. It is complex yet effortlessly drinkable, maybe too easy to drink. For me, it is the perfect cozy by the campfire kind of wine that makes your taste buds dance.

Bollini Pinot Grigio
Mackenzie Lesher
I will be sipping on a glass of Bollini Pinot Grigio by the fire pit as I desperately hold on to the last of summer’s warmth. Like summer in a bottle, bright notes of acacia flowers and pear bring me back to the past few months spent lounging in a pool chair. The crisp acid of this wine also makes for a solid smore pairing, cutting the rich creaminess of chocolate found in everyone’s favorite campfire treat. While I can’t bring summer back, I can certainly reminisce with a glass of this wine in hand.

As an extra bonus – this wine has a screw cap which is perfect for those (like me) who constantly forget to bring wine openers.
As the nights grow cooler and the fires burn brighter, there’s no better way to savor the season than with a glass of your favorite wine in hand. Whether you prefer something crisp and refreshing or rich and bold, these campfire favorites are the perfect companions for cozy autumn nights
