No Corkscrew, No Problem: The Best Screw-Cap Wines for Summer

As someone who spent every summer at the lake, it is truly the most magical part of summer. Whether it’s the ocean, lake, or pool, the perfect summer involves the sun shining with a body of water close by. However, there is an art of packing for these special occasions. Everything must be able to be enjoyed with limited utensils and considering factors such as wind, sun, and sand. We’ve got this down to science at this point. While nothing is better than a crisp glass of wine by the water, how many times have you brought a bottle and realized you forgot your wine opener? I know I have done this more times than I can count. The solution? Wine bottles with screw caps.

While sometimes screw caps get a bad rap, these days screw caps are not an indication of the quality. Places like New Zealand have completely switched over to mostly screw caps to remove any cork-related issues and have an airtight seal. Some of the most delicious wines have screw caps, and they are an essential to your summer rotation.

We’ve rounded up some of the most delicious screw-cap wines, perfect for enjoying a crisp, refreshing glass by the water.
