Rebellious Red Wine

Pull out your favorite bread and cheese, and get ready to celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day. I have armed myself with my trusty cast-iron skillet and will be prepping a cheddar and sourdough batard grilled sandwich today. My secret is a few drops of truffle oil on the cheese and a brush of mayo outside the bread instead of butter for a superbly crispy crust. I have selected a bottle of the just-released Rebellious Red Wine Blend to wash down this gooey deliciousness. This medley of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc from the North Coast of California complements the grilled cheddar with its jammy black cherry, strawberry, and warm spice notes of licorice, black pepper, cardamom on the palate
