The Ultimate Bachelorette Trip Wine Guide by Destination

Over the last few years, Bachelor and Bachelorette trips (and I do mean trips, not just one night of fun) have become imperative before a couple says, “I do.” For the best man or maid of honor, these trips can be stressful to help plan. So, to help cross one to-do off that planning list, I have curated a list of which wines you should be drinking based on the destination of your bachelor/bachelorette trip.

Palm Beach

& Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé

Palm Beach and Champagne Taittinger are both iconic, elegant, and luxurious. So, it only makes sense that while visiting Palm Beach on a bachelor/ bachelorette trip, you would want to drink nothing but the best. The Comtes Rosé is made from 100% Grand Cru grapes and is produced only in exceptional years. One of the reasons I chose the Rosé over the Comtes de Champagne Grands Crus Blanc de Blancs is that Palm Beach has a vibrant, tropical color palette/ style, including flamingo pink. The Pinot Noir added to the Chardonnay in the Rosé creates a beautiful pink hue that complements Palm Beach’s aesthetic. This wine is also perfect for cooling you down in the Florida heat. My final reason why this wine is a must in Palm Beach is that, when traveling with a big group of people, finger foods are often the easiest to order while dining out. This wine is paired perfectly with appetizers such as caviar, oysters, and charcuterie.

New Orleans

& Craggy Range Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc

New Orleans is perfect for a bachelor/ bachelorette trip. It offers live music, Bourbon Street nightlife, and amazing cuisine. Because of New Orleans’ direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, it is known for its exceptional seafood. And what pairs perfectly with seafood? A nice crisp glass of Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc. The wine’s high acidity cuts through the richness of the seafood, and the hints of lemon and lime on the palate balance the dish’s saltiness.  If you find yourself in New Orleans for a bachelor’s/ bachelorette trip, I highly suggest pairing Craggy Range’s Sauvignon Blanc with a good old-fashioned Po’boy.

Aspen

& Louis Jadot Beaujolais

If your bachelor/ bachelorette group is more adventurous and enjoys outdoor activities like skiing and snowboarding, Aspen is the spot for you. One of the best parts of skiing or snowboarding, if not the best part, is making it Après. Stopping at the top of the mountain for a break, warm food, and some dancing enhances the whole experience. After hours on the slopes and basically working out, you do not want to drink something heavy or something that will make you tired. That is why Louis Jadot Beaujolais is the perfect Après wine pairing. Beaujolais can be served slightly chilled, making it light and refreshing after all that physical activity. Beaujolais also pairs perfectly with Fondue, a must for Après. Fondue will not only warm you up but is perfect to share with large groups. The high acidity and low tannins of Beaujolais will complement the delicious cheese.

Lake Tahoe

& Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

For a cozy, more relaxing bachelor/bachelorette trip, renting a cabin in Lake Tahoe during the winter is the perfect destination. After a fun day of winter activities, exploring the surrounding small towns, or staying in and playing board/ card games, everyone will want to enjoy some nice red wine and comfort food. The best red wine to consume in a cozy cabin, paired with comfort food, is Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG. This Tuscan wine comes from the Chianti Classico region, located between Florence and Siena. And what better comfort food to pair with a Tuscan wine than a classic margherita pizza? Your group can either take advantage of the cabin’s kitchen and make pizza from scratch or order takeout, but either way, the Chianti Classico and margherita pizza will complement each other perfectly. The grape varietal is 100% Sangiovese, which has high acidity that matches the tomato sauce and cuts through the cheese. The cherry, earthy, and vibrant tasting notes of the wine enhance the simplicity of the fresh basil topped on the margherita pizza. This classic combination brings warmth, balance, and a touch of Tuscany to your Tahoe getaway.
