As Glinda and Elphaba take on the big screen, we are gearing up with wines to gleam over these not-so-wicked witches. On November 22nd, we get to enjoy seeing two iconic characters take on the big screen; go through hardships and heartbreaks, quests to the emerald city and battles with the Wizard of Oz. We are prepped and ready with bottles of bubbly and delicious sips to enjoy during your viewing party of Wicked.

This curated wine selection is like Glinda to Elphaba- a perfect pairing for this film. These wines will transport you straight down the yellow brick road to the Emerald city.

Maison Saleya Rosé

Grapes grown along the sunny Mediterranean coast crafted this perfect bottle of rosé. Its beautiful light rose-salmon color, with aromas of ripe tropical fruit, reveals accents of tangerine and hints of ginger. Its broad and rich palate is a great rosé to serve chilled with an aperitif with friends when watching the film. Just as unforgettable as Elphaba and Glinda, this rosé casts a spell with every sip.

Bouvet Ladubay Tresor Rosé

This sparkling rosé is the perfect bubbly pink drink to watch Glinda glide along in her bubble. Its tangy flavors and spicy character of this wine make it the perfect sip with the film. This salmon-pink and elegant rosé is the perfect bottle to pop and savor with the movie. This lively bubbly Bouvet is as enchanting as Glinda herself, bringing a bit of magic in every glass.

The Seeker Riesling & The Seeker Rosé

The seeker has the perfect pair of bottles to watch the most iconic pair on screen. Green and pink, Glinda and Elphaba, Riesling and Rosé; the perfect duo. The Riesling Grapes were discovered by a husband-and-wife team in the famed Mosel region of Germany. The vineyards are 100% hand-harvested to ensure a top-quality grape selection. Its off-dry and crisp with acidity and vibrant fruit, the perfect wine to represent Elphaba. Glinda deserves the Seekers Rosé to be her brilliant bright pink wine. Intense scents of raspberries, strawberries with hints of grapefruit give this rosé a fresh and fruity rounded finish. It is true what they say, pink does look good with green.

Cakebread Cellars Napa Valley Chardonnay

If Elphaba were looking for a bold, bright and elegant wine, it would be this Chardonnay from Cakebread. Fruit for the Napa Valley Chardonnay comes primarily from the cool-climate Carneros. Carneros is subject to fog and cooling breezes from the nearby San Pablo Bay, giving Carneros the time to enjoy a long growing season to ripen its fruit and retain that bright acidity. This Chardonnay is bold, complex, and unforgettable- making it the perfect wine to represent a character as wicked as Elphaba.

Medici Ermete Quercioli Secco Reggiano Lambrusco DOC

To bring out the bubbles of Glinda and the bright green hue of Elphaba, reach for this Medici Ermete Lambrusco. This sparkling red wine is sourced primarily from the states organically farmed “Quercioli” vineyard outside of the city of Reggio Emilia in Italy’s Emilia Romagna region. A blend of 50% Marani and 50% Salamino, this wine captures the best of both grapes. The intense aromatics and structure of Salamino are blended with the fresh acidity of Marani, making these wins perfectly balanced. Sounds like another duo I know…

Michele Chiarlo Le Madri Roero Arneis DOCG

Le Madri Roero Arneis is a beautiful wine perfect to capture the beauty Elphaba brings to the big screen. The Arneis grapes come from Roero, a small hillside area on the left bank of the Tanaro River. The soil is rich in calcareous marl and sand with traces of clay. Its intense yellow straw color with brilliant green hues, and notes of peach and tropical fruit give this wine an enjoyable, savory finish. This gorgeous wine is the perfect sip to savor when viewing Wicked.
